Matrimonial Asset Tracing

Matrimonial Asset Tracing

Matrimonial asset tracing can satisfy a party’s need for financial transparency by performing an independent review of the parties’ financial disclosure and records.  This process, which may include obtaining additional previously undisclosed financial documents, may also ultimately lead to uncovering undisclosed assets, and/or undisclosed income to add to the parties’ pool of assets to be divided.  Matrimonial asset tracing may also assist in facilitating any settlement negotiations between the parties, once a party’s suspicions regarding the magnitude of the parties’ assets to be divided have been eliminated.

Cheryl Shearer has performed numerous matrimonial asset tracing assignments, prepared supporting schedules to assist in settlement, arbitration and mediation proceedings and/or prepared expert reports for court and has testified as an expert witness in divorce proceedings related to the identification and division of matrimonial assets.
